About the position

The Director of Operations for the Integrative Sciences Initiative (ISI) at NC State University is a key leadership role responsible for strategizing and implementing high-level project coordination related to building planning and operations. This position aims to align with the mission of ISI, which focuses on interdisciplinary research and education. The Director will oversee multiple project teams, manage program initiatives, and serve as a point of contact for various ISI/Woodson Hall projects, ensuring the university's excellence in research, teaching, and engagement with local and global partners.

Responsibilities

  • Strategizing, implementing, and maintaining program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives.
  • Coordinating building operations through construction phases and ongoing operations.
  • Overseeing multiple project teams to ensure program goals are reached for both the building and initiative.
  • Managing program and project teams for optimal return on investment and coordinating cross-project initiatives.
  • Managing the division's data analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborating with administrative support staff on general office management.
  • Coordinating across aspirational partners on and off campus.
  • Working in coordination with staff in offices throughout the university.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, with at least one year in a supervisory or lead-worker capacity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar software.
  • Ability to use Gmail and Google applications.
  • Ability to develop metrics to measure growth, collect data, communicate results, and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. with 1-3+ years of experience or a Master's degree and 3-5+ years of experience related to the area of assignment.
  • Experience in a similar office environment, preferably in higher education or non-profits.
  • A molecular science or engineering background.

Benefits

  • Commensurate salary based on education and experience ($110,000-$125,000).
  • Work schedule from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with potential for additional hours as needed.
