About the position

As the Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operational functions of our department, ensuring that we maintain our commitment to culinary excellence and innovative service. You will work closely with the Regional Vice President (RVP) to plan, evaluate, implement, and report on departmental operations, providing essential support and guidance to ensure our business activities align with our strategic goals. In this role, you will be responsible for the fiscal oversight of operations, including the preparation of financial reports for the RVP. You will evaluate cost control compliance and seek innovative ways to reduce costs associated with labor and materials. Your leadership will extend to directly supervising your unit within the department, managing and directing the efforts of management and staff members to achieve departmental objectives. You will participate in the development of both short-term and long-term goals for the department, providing valuable input on the administration of University-wide programs and initiatives that involve the company. As a liaison across departments, you will coordinate activities to ensure alignment and prevent any cross-purposes among teams. Your role will also involve monitoring and evaluating process development, compliance, and internal controls, providing management with essential information and reporting. Staying current with developments in the field is vital, and you will be expected to participate in training and professional development sessions. Additionally, you will serve on various committees and user groups as requested, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the overall leadership for all departmental functions including managing, planning, directing, and evaluating departmental operations.
• Provides fiscal oversight of operations and financial reports to the RVP, recommending and evaluating cost control compliance.
• Directly supervises and maintains responsibility for their unit within the department, including directing the efforts of management and staff members.
• Participates in the development of short-term and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
• Provides advice and input on the administration of University-wide programs and initiatives involving the Company.
• Serves as liaison and assists in coordinating activities across departments to ensure alignment.
• Monitors, evaluates, and provides advice on process development, compliance, and internal controls.
• Advises on developing and implementing new policies or revisions to existing policies.
• Stays abreast of developments in the field and participates in training and professional development sessions.
• Serves on various committees and user groups as requested.

Requirements

• Minimum four-year college degree.
• Five to ten years of progressive POM management and leadership experience with a proven record of cost containment in a large complex organization.
• Experience in College/University Facility required.
• Visionary leader with strong management, planning, and communication skills.
• General business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills.
• High customer service and quality attitude with great communication skills.
• Public speaking skills and the ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Ability to maintain organization in a fast-paced, changing environment.
