Ernest Packaging Solutions is currently in search of a Director of Operations for our division located in Boise, Idaho. We are looking for talented individuals with a proven ability to motivate, manage, and develop and grow a company. The Director of Operations manages all activities related to the daily operations and growth of the company. This is accomplished through leadership with clear direction and the ability to motivate employees. The Director of Operation's interplay with our customers, vendors, and employees, will fulfill our company's commitment to corporate profitability. Ultimately, this position is the focal point in harnessing the internal power of managing a dynamic operation of a company for the benefit of our customer's welfare. Expectations for this role include upholding the company core values in all dealings with customers, vendors, employees, and the sales force. The Director will direct the day-to-day operations of the division, managing, supervising, training, motivating, and being ultimately responsible for all office, warehouse, customer service, purchasing, accounting, and inventory functions and departments. This role requires equipping, supporting, and holding departmental leadership accountable to adopt company and/or divisional initiatives or change. The Director will also assume personal accountability for balancing the demand of the customer with our company policies and supplier needs, while managing, supporting, training, and nurturing the development, growth, and success of the inside staff, maintaining high employee morale.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the division.
  • Manage, supervise, train, motivate, and be ultimately responsible for all office, warehouse, customer service, purchasing, accounting, and inventory functions and departments.
  • Equip, support, and hold departmental leadership accountable to adopt company and/or divisional initiatives or change.
  • Assume personal accountability for balancing the demand of the customer with company policies and supplier needs.
  • Manage, support, train, and nurture the development, growth, and success of the inside staff.
  • Maintain and keep employee morale at a high level.
  • Maximize division profitability by implementing programs that optimize service and inventory management efficiency.
  • Ensure that all delivery commitments are met with the most efficiency and lowest internal cost.
  • Authorize time worked and time lost within the policies of the company for the inside staff.
  • Observe and instruct employees about safety and security procedures.
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and annual reviews.
  • Develop and maintain a yearly business plan that includes programs for improving the profitability of the company.
  • Develop and coordinate projects and implement/maintain cost saving measures.
  • Review daily reports, assist the sales manager with account and sales person analysis, and direct the resolution of all operational issues.
  • Monitor the company inventory and help maintain healthy turn rates.
  • Strive to exceed the company goals as to gross profit production, gross profit percentage, and company profits.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to motivate, manage, and develop a company.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP or an advanced ERP understanding is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or training is a plus.
