About the position

The Director of Operations at PSSI is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence and enhancing organizational performance across multiple territories. This position serves as a critical link between the VP of Operations and Division Managers, ensuring that corporate strategies are effectively translated into actionable plans. The Director will oversee day-to-day operations, focusing on service improvements, compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP of Operations and Division Managers to translate corporate strategies into actionable plans and initiatives for operational units.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Division Managers in multiple geographic regions, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and financial targets, implementing strategies to optimize performance and efficiency across an assigned geographical region.
  • Head continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery, leveraging best practices and technological advancements.
  • Optimize staffing levels, equipment utilization, and resource allocation across assigned areas to meet operational demands and achieve budgetary goals.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, ensure exceptional service delivery, resolve issues promptly, and identify opportunities for business expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies, mitigating risks, and maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
  • Mentor and develop Division Managers and operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 8+ years of operations related progressive experience in a food production/sanitation environment, with demonstrated success in overseeing and managing multiple operational units.
  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience.
  • Working knowledge of government regulations (EPA, USDA, OSHA), safety standards, and best practices sanitation or related industries.
  • Proficient computer skills associated with Microsoft Office and basic skills required to learn new programs.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining long-time customer relationships.
