About the position

The Director of Operations will oversee all operational aspects of maritime RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping services, focusing on vessel scheduling, terminal operations, and labor management. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient service delivery while adhering to safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive vessel schedules to optimize shipping operations.
• Coordinate with port authorities and stakeholders to arrange docking, loading, and unloading of vessels.
• Monitor and assess sailing performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet operational targets.
• Oversee terminal activities, ensuring safe and efficient cargo handling and operations.
• Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for terminal management.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure all terminal equipment is operational and meets safety regulations.
• Lead and manage all operational staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develop staffing plans to meet operational demands and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
• Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes teamwork, safety, and accountability.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards within all operational areas.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training programs to maintain high safety standards among staff.
• Stay updated with maritime regulations and implement changes as necessary to maintain compliance.
• Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective practices are in place.
• Analyze operational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
