About the position

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and guiding contracted services across multiple sites for one or more clients, typically generating revenue between $2-15M+. Your primary goal will be to meet operational and financial objectives while ensuring client satisfaction and addressing customer needs. The services you oversee may include food service, facility support, custodial services, retail, lodging, transportation, and more. Your role will require you to be a capable operations manager who leads a team dedicated to providing excellent service to our clients. You will leverage your knowledge of the client's business, build positive relationships, and maintain a focus on safety to make a significant impact every day. In this position, you will lead a team that provides operational expertise in contracted services while managing hands-on execution of operations. You will be responsible for managing client and community relationships at the location, continually assessing operations, and developing plans to enhance service delivery and drive employee and customer satisfaction. Building, developing, and leading a management team and staff capable of achieving organizational objectives will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also recommend methods, resources, and implementation strategies for service improvement and growth based on a thorough understanding of operational needs, capabilities, and contractual obligations. In partnership with the Finance team, you will manage a budget and assist in designing improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity. Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes is essential, and you will maintain all associated records and reports. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to Aramark's standards of operation, including safety standards and the Business Conduct Policy, at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team that provides operational expertise in contracted services while providing hands-on execution management of operations.

  • Builds, develops, and leads a management team and staff capable of carrying out organizational objectives.
  • Recommends methods, resources, and implementation for service improvement and growth based on understanding of operational needs, capabilities, & contractual obligations.
  • In partnership with Finance, manages a budget and assists in the design of improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity.
  • Manages compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and codes and maintains all associated records and reports.
  • Ensures compliance with Aramark's standards of operation including safety standards and Aramark's Business Conduct Policy at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree level education highly preferred in an area of Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management.
  • Ability to focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship, and building and growing a strong business is essential to success in this role.
  • Savvy interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and Aramark support staff.
  • Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements, including identifying opportunities within contract terms and conditions to address operational issues.
  • Meaningful experience in service industry, contract services, or hospitality environment.
  • Proven ability leading through other managers.
  • Experience in creating and managing a department budget, financial controls and analysis.
  • Experience crafting product sales strategies and implementing operational programs and initiatives.
