About the position

The Texas House Democratic Caucus (HDC) is seeking an Operations Director to facilitate outreach and administrative work for the caucus. This role involves managing logistical needs for major events, coordinating schedules, crafting meeting agendas, and assisting with financial management. The Operations Director will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff to support the caucus's mission of advocating for working families in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Manage HDC logistical needs for all major caucus events, including the caucus retreat and fundraisers.
• Coordinate all scheduling matters for the HDC, including meetings with HDC Members, staff, advocacy groups, agency personnel, and stakeholders.
• Craft agendas and follow up with tasks discussed and assigned during meetings.
• Assist with project deadlines and task management for all HDC staff.
• Assist the HDC Executive Director with financial management and TEC reports.
• Assist the HDC Executive Director and Chairman on any matters assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage many tasks at once.
• Experience with event planning and management.
• Experience working with the Texas Legislature and/or state and local government, either as staff or in an advocacy role.
• Experience with campaign finance documents and processes.

Benefits

• Salary is negotiable, starting at no less than $4,500/month and increasing with experience.
