About the position

The Director of Operations at DAWN Center for Independent Living is a key member of the management team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. This role involves developing long-term operational strategies, managing budgets, overseeing contract compliance, and enhancing productivity through efficient workflows. The Director will work closely with the CEO and other management team members to align operational goals with the organization's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate development and maintenance of the organizational Strategic Plan.
  • Lead and participate in strategic organizational projects as required.
  • Develop and maintain organizational data/reporting structures.
  • Optimize business processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct research to support business operations and program development.
  • Monitor and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to foster a trusting and inclusive work environment.
  • Support the CEO in enhancing communications and building partnerships in new markets.
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop and monitor revenue margins, operating expenses, and budgets.
  • Assist in the management of organizational cash flow and grant applications.
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll and allocate payroll expenses appropriately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration or related field.
  • Specialized training in Contract Administration or Procurement with at least two years of experience.
  • Experience in general business development in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of the Independent Living Philosophy and related programs/services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities and other stakeholders.
  • Expertise in contract administration and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows editions 8-10.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in the social services delivery sector.
  • Preferred experience in grant and proposal development.
  • Understanding of data management concepts and tools.
  • Familiarity with social media concepts and platforms.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $87,500 - $95,000 per year.
  • Mileage reimbursement for day travel.
  • Compensation time may be considered under certain conditions.
