About the position

The Director of Operations is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational excellence of dental offices. This position is critical in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the dental practice, ensuring that optimal patient care and service are delivered consistently. The Director of Operations will be instrumental in driving performance and growth, creating a positive and productive work environment that fosters collaboration and efficiency. In this role, the Director will need to have a comprehensive understanding of every aspect of running a dental office, including budgets, profit and loss statements, expenses, payroll, patient scheduling utilization, staff productivity, collections, and understanding key performance indicators (KPIs). The position requires proficiency in managing payables, accounts receivable, cash reconciliation, and conducting practice audits using various Practice Management Software. The Director will also be responsible for controlling operational expenses to ensure financial health. Strategic planning and implementation are key components of this role. The Director will collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, growth, and profitability of the dental practices. This includes providing leadership to office leaders and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and implementing training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team. A servant leadership approach will be emphasized, focusing on collaborative and partnership decision-making. Financial oversight is another critical responsibility, ensuring financial stability through sound budget management, financial analysis, and adherence to financial protocols. The Director will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve practice performance, requiring exceptional numerical aptitude and analytical skills. Compliance and quality assurance are paramount, as the Director will ensure that all dental offices adhere to regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards set by local, state, and federal regulations. Regular audits will be conducted to assess and improve the quality of services provided. Operational efficiency will be a continuous focus, identifying opportunities for operational improvements, process enhancements, and cost-saving measures. The Director will implement streamlined processes to enhance overall office efficiency and will hold weekly or bi-weekly meetings with practices to review KPIs and strategic initiatives for growth and profitability.
