About the position

The Director of Operations at Amedisys is responsible for overseeing the overall organization and financial management of the care center, ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients. This role involves managing direct report staff, providing leadership and guidance, and maintaining the care center's image within the community. The Director will also focus on staff education, performance improvement, and achieving growth goals for the care center.

Responsibilities

  • Handles employment decisions for direct report staff, including hiring, firing, advancing, promoting, or changing status.
  • Responsible for overall organization and financial management of the care center.
  • Provides supervision to the clinical manager(s) to ensure quality care delivery to patients.
  • Maintains the care center's image in the community and with state and national organizations.
  • Provides input and guidance related to marketing activities and care center marketing plans.
  • Ensures adequate orientation of every team member assigned to the care center.
  • Assigns and directs staff with appropriate skills to perform duties.
  • Provides leadership planning for staff education programs and administrative/staff meetings.
  • Encourages continuous education and staff development for all team members.
  • Sets positive, attainable expectations, objectives, and goals for the care center.
  • Ensures implementation of a performance improvement program to drive quality care and positive patient outcomes.
  • Responsible for the delivery of care for all patients served by the care centers.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in business or clinical-related field.
  • Two years of home care experience and at least one year of supervisory experience; or two years of experience in leadership/management in healthcare, home health, or hospice.
  • Current license to practice as an RN or other healthcare professional, specific to the state assigned.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business or clinical related-field with a current license.
  • Home health experience.
