About the position

The Director of Operations at West Coast Fixtures, Inc. is a transformative leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, profitability, and operational excellence. This role involves managing daily operations, including production, planning, inventory management, and quality control, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety. The Director will collaborate with senior management to align operational objectives with business goals and lead a team to achieve high performance in manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management to align operational objectives with business goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, planning, and scheduling.
  • Implement best practices to optimize production efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to meet industry standards.
  • Lead process engineering initiatives to improve product quality and reduce cycle times.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels and manage supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all operational activities.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between operations and other functional areas.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in operations management within a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years managing/leading both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Strong background in process engineering and process optimization.
  • Proven track record of achieving operational excellence and production targets.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong communication, people development, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems, specifically EpiCor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Lean / Six Sigma certification
  • Functional knowledge of CAD/CAM software application.
