About the position

The Director of Operations at Immanuel Lutheran Church & School is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and operational execution of various functions including financial management, human resources, information technology, marketing, and facilities management. This role supports the mission and vision of the Church and School by aligning operational strategies with long-term goals, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive organizational culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the long-term strategic planning process for both the Church & School.
  • Lead the development and execution of operational strategies aligned with the organizational strategic plan.
  • Oversee all aspects of operations functions including financial management, human resources, IT, legal, and facilities management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Direct supervision and development of the Operations Team, including HR/Accounting Coordinator and IT staff.
  • Participate in meetings of the Board of Directors as a non-voting member.
  • Manage budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Oversee human resources functions across the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead the maintenance and security of facilities and IT support.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on marketing and community outreach initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or operational leadership.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in operational leadership, particularly in financial management or people management.
  • General knowledge of facilities management and information technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite office products.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and execute operational strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Christian Church environment, preferably Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in project management.
