About the position

The Director of Operations at MCHS Family of Services is a pivotal role responsible for the coordination and supervision of employees engaged in the maintenance and housekeeping of facilities, as well as overseeing the centralized food service program. This position requires a strong leader who can manage the day-to-day operations of food service, central supply, and purchasing, ensuring that all departments work collaboratively to fulfill food and supply orders efficiently. The Director will also serve as the primary liaison with contractors, overseeing all contractual work related to repairs and alterations, and will manage relationships with external IT partnerships to ensure that the agency's IT needs are met comprehensively. In this role, the Director will supervise maintenance and food service personnel, which includes orienting, training, assigning tasks, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff as necessary. The Director will communicate job expectations clearly and ensure that all employees adhere to established policies and procedures. This position is not only about managing operations but also about fostering a positive team culture and promoting opportunities for growth within the organization. The Director will be an integral part of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Race Equity (DIRE) committee, contributing to MCHS's commitment to creating an inclusive workplace. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and have at least two years of experience in maintenance, food service, and/or purchasing, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the work of employees in maintenance and housekeeping of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

  • Manage the organization of central supply and purchasing activities.
  • Supervise maintenance and food service personnel, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with contractors for repairs and alterations.
  • Manage relationships with external IT partnerships to meet agency-wide IT needs.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures among staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience in maintenance, food service, and/or purchasing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional supervisory experience.
