About the position

The Director of Packaged Products is responsible for the safe and efficient planning and production of all flour and bakery mix packaged products at Mennel. This role involves strategic leadership, operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The director will work closely with the corporate leadership team to set goals and strategies for the packaged products division, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Responsibilities

• Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, and sanitation guidelines.
• Oversee and direct the operations of Mennel facilities.
• Develop pricing models for contract manufacturing work.
• Act as an active member of Mennel's corporate leadership team, setting strategies and goals for the company's core packing and bakery mix operations.
• Execute strategic and tactical plans established with the VP of Packaged Products.
• Provide overall business and technical leadership to ensure the packaged products division meets/exceeds goals in Cost, Quality, Sanitation, System Performance, Customer Service, & EHS.
• Champion continuous improvement and implement strategies for operational excellence.
• Lead, motivate, and develop managers, supervisors, and hourly employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing performance results.
• Foster a 'zero' incident EHS culture and ensure compliance with quality, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Plan, develop, execute, and manage various capital projects across all packing locations.
• Maintain existing external customer relationships and facilitate communication between customers and the Mennel production site.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an Operations or Manufacturing related field is required.
• 10-15 years of progressive plant management experience in a food manufacturing environment is required.
• Proven operations experience with evidence of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive level.
• Proven ability to manage projects in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of packaging equipment and systems.
