FreshDirect is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Paid Marketing to lead our paid acquisition and retention efforts. In this role, you will oversee all paid media channels, including search, social, display, video, and programmatic advertising. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing a comprehensive paid media strategy that drives customer acquisition, increases brand awareness, and maximizes ROI. You will develop and lead the overall paid media strategy, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and business objectives. This includes managing the planning, execution, and optimization of paid campaigns across various platforms, including Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, podcasts, and programmatic networks. Collaboration with the analytics team will be crucial to track and measure the performance of campaigns, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve effectiveness. Additionally, you will work with creative teams to develop compelling ad content that resonates with target audiences and enhances brand positioning. Overseeing the budget allocation for paid media channels will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximum ROI. Staying informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in digital marketing and paid media will help maintain a competitive edge. You will also build and nurture relationships with external partners, including ad agencies, media vendors, and technology providers, to enhance campaign performance. Leading a team of marketing professionals, you will provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to drive team success. Finally, you will present campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, clearly articulating the impact of paid media efforts on business growth.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a strong focus on paid media and performance marketing.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful paid media campaigns that drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of various paid media channels, including search, social, display, video, and programmatic, with hands-on experience in campaign management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience managing substantial marketing budgets and optimizing spend to maximize ROI.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • Experience in the e-commerce, retail, or CPG industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in marketing technology and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, and other relevant platforms.
