About the position

The Director of Patient Access Service Operations at Banner Health is responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle processes and systems across multiple rural clinic locations in six states. This role involves collaboration with various departments, providing education to staff, reviewing key performance indicators, and creating action plans to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue cycle financial processes and prior leadership experience in a medical environment, with the flexibility to work remotely and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor revenue cycle/patient financial services processes to ensure accurate documentation and processing.
  • Lead and direct registration, admitting, front office, and patient financial services functions for the assigned region/business entity.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to revenue cycle processes and implement improvements for greater reimbursement.
  • Work with analytical staff to develop operational and financial reports related to revenue cycle processes.
  • Coordinate with compliance and training staff to ensure revenue cycle processes support compliance needs and provide necessary education to staff.
  • Act as a member of the integration team when acquiring new practices, providing oversight and education on revenue cycle processes.
  • Serve as a resource to regional/business entity leadership and staff for revenue cycle-related issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of operational experience in physician practice management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes and reporting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective human relations skills for building relationships with staff and physicians.
  • Strong influential and negotiation skills in a complex organization.
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in database and spreadsheet software.

Nice-to-haves

  • CHAM Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic medical record software.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
