About the position

The Director of People and Talent Operations at Water Street Mission is responsible for leading the Human Resources and Talent Development ministries. This role focuses on enhancing the quality and effectiveness of these areas in alignment with the organization's mission and strategic objectives. The director will oversee HR policies, activities, and staff, ensuring compliance with legal standards while fostering a healthy Christian community among staff and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Human Resources and Talent Development ministries to support organizational growth and effectiveness.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies in partnership with the VP, People and Culture.
  • Create comprehensive strategic recruiting plans to meet staffing needs in collaboration with the Talent Development Manager.
  • Implement competitive compensation and benefits plans aligned with the organization's culture and strategy.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HR and Talent Management functions, supporting staff development.
  • Design training program strategies to enhance staff development and retention.
  • Plan and implement HR policies, processes, and training initiatives to support compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administer human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and disciplinary matters.
  • Monitor compliance with employment laws and regulations, modifying policies as necessary.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends using HRIS or talent management systems.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Facilitate professional development and training for HR staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience.
  • Strong evidence of active Christian formation and spiritual maturity.
  • SHRM-CP certification highly preferred.
