About the position

The Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Labette Community College is responsible for the overall administration of the program, including curriculum development, accreditation maintenance, and recruitment of students and faculty. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
  • Develop and revise curriculum to meet educational standards.
  • Maintain accreditation status for the program.
  • Recruit and select students, faculty, and staff for the program.
  • Evaluate students, faculty, and staff performance within the department.
  • Ensure that the program objectives are met and evaluated for effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapist or physical therapy assistant professional program.
  • Earned a master's degree in physical therapy, education, clinical specialty, or related fields.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PT or PTA in the state of Kansas.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed PT or PTA.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior teaching experience in a physical therapy academic program.
  • Administrative experience in clinical practice.
  • Earned status as an APTA credentialed clinical instructor.
