The Director of Plant Operations is a senior management position responsible for overseeing the operations of Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative's (OBRC) five processing plants across the state of Oregon. This role is pivotal in providing leadership, support, and strategic vision to plant managers and supervisors. The Director is tasked with planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, administrating, and controlling all plant activities within the organization. A key aspect of this role is ensuring that the physical facilities are aesthetically maintained, operational, and in safe working order. The Director is also responsible for achieving defined objectives by implementing and maintaining production and maintenance benchmarks while ensuring compliance with safety requirements. In this leadership position, the Director of Plant Operations reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of OBRC and collaborates with other director-level managers, the CEO, CFO, and other executive management. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong leadership qualities and executive presence, along with a proven track record in senior management. The Director will oversee production processes in all five plants, ensuring timely offloading and reloading of route trailers, efficient processing of materials, and effective inventory management. Additionally, the Director will lead production process improvements, monitor and manage budgets, and partner with the COO on strategic planning and equipment design, focusing on capital needs assessment in relation to processing capacity and demand. The role also involves managing staffing levels and compensation within budgetary and efficiency guidelines, overseeing facilities and equipment maintenance, and fostering a positive team culture. The Director is expected to support an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among staff, ensuring that all operations align with OBRC's mission to ensure that no resource goes to waste.
