About the position

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents, and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Plant Operations, Maintenance and Facilities Services position. The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the development, organization, and management of the facility including; Maintenance, Housekeeping, IT, and Food Service. They ensure duties are performed in a systematic manner and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and applicable regulatory/accreditation rules and guidelines resulting in a safe, attractive, and orderly facility. The Director of Plant Operations is a Full Time, Day Shift, Exempt Salary Basis position that reports directly to the hospital CEO and is a member of the hospital senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and manage the facility's Maintenance, Housekeeping, IT, and Food Service departments.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures as well as regulatory/accreditation rules and guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, attractive, and orderly facility for patients and staff.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of H.V.A.C. equipment, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Manage staff effectively, ensuring clear communication and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with H.V.A.C. equipment, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory codes regarding Fire and Life Safety Codes, and building and engineering codes.
  • Experience in managing and communicating with staff.
