About the position

The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for overseeing the Engineering Department's operations at St. Joseph Medical Center. This role involves managing both administrative and technical aspects of plant operations, ensuring preventive maintenance schedules are followed, and supervising the maintenance team. The Director assists in cost computation, scheduling repairs, and ordering necessary equipment and supplies, while also stepping in for the Vice President of Plant Services when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Vice President of Facility Services in the overall operation of the Engineering Department.
• Perform and supervise preventive maintenance schedules.
• Compute costs and schedule operations and repairs.
• Supervise and inspect building and grounds.
• Order equipment and supplies as needed.
• Assume duties of building operations in the absence of the Vice President of Plant Services.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent; graduation from trade school preferred.
• Five years of experience in hospital maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
• Supervisory experience in maintenance work.
