About the position

The Director of Player Development is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the Casino Marketing function, including Player Development to ensure the development and maintenance of high-limit player market strategy; accountable for defined low-profile casino activity through player card programs and designed charter sales services; works closely with marketing research and database management to formulate short and long-term strategies to target and capture new and existing markets to contribute to the profitability of Ameristar East Chicago business plan. Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to have Ameristar as their casino of choice; responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees to provide superior customer service. Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and directs internal and staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives. Establishes department standards, guidelines, and objectives and maintains administrative processes such as budget and staffing, ensuring proper planning and efficient operation of the department. Monitors and evaluates all department programs, events and projects to ensure the achievement of department goals and contribution to company profitability. Evaluates the performance of casino marketing programs by analyzing data and reports, to implement changes allowing for most successful implementation of future programs. Participates in forecast and yield management meetings to contribute a casino marketing perspective to issues. Hosts selected "top end," high-limit guests, and accommodates their needs within program guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage return visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration field.
  • Minimum of eight years' progressive experience in casino services.
  • Previous managerial experience required.
  • Public relations skills and knowledge of general casino operations.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of casino marketing programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and time schedules.
