About the position

ORIX Capital Partners is seeking a Director of Portfolio Operations to join a high-performing Portfolio Operations Team. This role is integral to maximizing sustainable equity value throughout the investment lifecycle, from diligence to exit, in collaboration with investment and portfolio management teams. The Director will support value creation strategies, manage post-acquisition plans, and enhance portfolio monitoring processes, all while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and drive value creation across the investment life cycle, including investment strategy and exit planning.
  • Collaborate with deal partners on the creation of investment thesis and support the investment decision process.
  • Work with portfolio executive teams to define and execute operating agendas aligned to the investment thesis.
  • Develop detailed value creation plans, initiative sizing, prioritization, and provide recommendations while driving execution at portfolio companies.
  • Create and execute post-acquisition plans including portfolio onboarding, 100-day planning, and synergy realization.
  • Enhance the portfolio monitoring process that includes both leading and lagging KPIs.
  • Identify and manage resources to drive key initiatives at individual companies or across the portfolio.
  • Initiate and manage portfolio-wide initiatives within specific functional areas, aligning best practices across the firm.
  • Lead internal operation initiatives related to portfolio management.
  • Execute the sale readiness playbook to prepare portfolio companies for the exit process.
  • Fulfill the role of interim portfolio company executive as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college, preferably in business disciplines such as accounting, general business, engineering, or statistics.
  • MBA degree from a top-tier accredited university.
  • 3+ years of business operating experience with P&L responsibilities and direct reports.
  • 3+ years' experience in management consulting, with Private Equity experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of total experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Private Equity and M&A transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems or software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in daily activities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as part of a high-performance team.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions.
  • Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment.
