About the position

The Director of Product Line Management at Cisco's Acacia team is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to profitable portfolio. This position requires collaboration with various teams, including customer-facing, engineering, and operations, to ensure product specifications, quality, and market success. The director will engage with customers, define product requirements, present roadmaps, and shape strategic decisions to drive product success in the rapidly evolving client optics market.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to showcase product features and gather requirements.
  • Lead the product through every stage of its life cycle, ensuring specifications, quality, market timing, and profitability.
  • Establish clear product requirements.
  • Share the product and technology roadmap with customers.
  • Oversee all phases of the Product Life Cycle and ensure successful Decision Reviews.
  • Influence strategic decisions on customer engagement, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with the operations team to enhance supply chain security, manufacturability, capacity ramp-up, and cost reduction.

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in Optical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 plus years of experience in product management or product marketing.
  • Experience understanding client optics market and IEEE standardization, or a willingness to quickly learn.
  • Experience with the full product life cycle process in product releases, with experience in Return on Investment analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through various professional or personal experiences.
  • Knowledge of the client optics market and competitive landscape, or a strong interest and ability to quickly learn.
  • Experience presenting in public forums, such as trade shows, conferences, or community events, or a willingness to develop these skills.
  • Experienced in communicating a clear strategy and motivate team members, with demonstrated leadership skills in any setting.
