About the position
The Trade Desk is seeking a leader for the Developer Experience & Productivity product team, responsible for enhancing the development experience for engineers. This role focuses on maximizing developer productivity through the design and delivery of tools and processes that improve efficiency in building, testing, and releasing software. The position involves managing product teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving improvements in operational efficiency while overseeing complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Developer Experience & Productivity PM team.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product and engineering teams to understand requirements.
- Refine the Developer Productivity strategy and roadmap.
- Ensure the PM team is set up for successful execution against the roadmap.
- Provide leadership on deeply technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Own execution of complex, long-term projects with unknown requirements.
- Define and lead execution for deliverables impacting operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define success metrics and validation.
- Build processes for assessing employee morale and leverage insights for improvement initiatives.
- Analyze hiring effectiveness and advocate for improvements.
- Execute on a hiring strategy aligned with the area.
- Identify, motivate, coach, and develop team leaders and managers.
- Develop processes to analyze team performance metrics and act on insights.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience as a Technical or Platform Product Manager in a technology-heavy role.
- Proven track record of leading a developer productivity team and building efficient tooling and processes.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to solve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive consensus and commitment.
- Durability and grit in problem-solving, requiring creative thinking and multiple iterations.
- Deep understanding of modern infrastructure environments, both on-prem and in cloud, and DevOps.
