About the position

The Director of Product Management for the ERP Platform at American Express Global Business Travel is responsible for owning the global strategy of the NetSuite product. This role involves leading product strategy, managing enhancements, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical delivery. The director will guide a team of product managers, oversee vendor relationships, and support finance operations while driving product improvements based on data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global strategy for the NetSuite product.
  • Lead the NetSuite product strategy in collaboration with technical leaders and finance teams.
  • Manage and prioritize enhancements to NetSuite based on business needs.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for NetSuite.
  • Translate complex requirements into actionable tasks for the product team.
  • Guide the product team in creating detailed requirements and Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
  • Partner with Finance Operations for effective change management processes.
  • Work closely with engineering to set product direction and priorities.
  • Oversee requirements gathering for changes and new acquisitions.
  • Function as the vendor relationship manager for third-party systems.
  • Support audits and perform monthly reviews of privileged user activity.
  • Ensure all SDLC documentation is complete and current.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers and system administrators.
  • Oversee an outsourced support desk for user issues and requests.
  • Produce data, metrics, and status reports regularly.
  • Monitor system performance and drive product improvements based on data.
  • Support reconciliation processes using Blackline.

Requirements

  • 10 years of product management or functional experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Thorough understanding of AR/AP/FA/GL/Intercompany modules.
  • Experience in maintaining product backlog in JIRA and agile methodology.
  • Strong background in change management, especially in finance operations.
  • Prior experience in a tech organization with customized automations and integrations.
  • Previous product management experience is strongly desired.
  • Effective communication skills for clear interactions with senior leaders and business partners.
  • Ability to be assertive yet respectful in collaboration with business partners.
  • Leadership experience in managing large ERP functional teams, preferably in a global setting.
  • Familiarity with Blackline for reconciliation processes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Educational background in accounting or finance or an MBA is preferred.
  • Travel industry knowledge is a plus.
