About the position

The Director of Product Management & Marketing at MTS Systems Corporation is a strategic leadership role focused on developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance market position and drive organic growth within the Materials Testing Business. This position involves direct responsibility for marketing and product management, requiring strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with various functional leaders both domestically and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to gather high-quality customer insights.
  • Define and articulate a strategy for product development that supports organic growth and market differentiation.
  • Convert market insights into key growth opportunities aligned with business strategy.
  • Drive value proposition creation to address customer needs and pain points.
  • Participate in annual and long-range planning to develop growth strategies, operational plans, and budgets.
  • Stop projects when necessary to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Drive domestic and international marketing strategies and manage product pricing and positioning.
  • Determine market size/share, revenue potential, and ROI to develop sales plans and channels.
  • Use data and analytics for informed decision-making and optimizations.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure success of marketing and innovation initiatives.
  • Oversee brand identity and marketing campaigns for materials testing products.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Assess team capabilities and address gaps when identified.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marketing, or a technical discipline.
  • 7-10 years of related experience in product management and market strategy.
  • Ability to contribute at a strategic level to define growth strategy and rationalize product portfolio.
  • Knowledge of marketing and the product development process and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time domestically and internationally.
