About the position
The Director of Product Management for Vehicle Intelligence & Integration at Ford Motor Company is responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and roadmap for advancing Ford's vehicle intelligence product capabilities. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch and adoption of innovative products that enhance user experience and align with business objectives. The position requires a strong focus on market research, customer needs, and emerging technologies in AI and machine learning, while also nurturing a team of product managers to drive product development and strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Own, develop, and execute an end-to-end vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ford's vehicle intelligence product capabilities.
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, and sensor systems.
- Evangelize Ford's vehicle intelligence offerings, ensuring the product portfolio incorporates advanced technologies while prioritizing user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, and marketing to gather feedback and align product priorities.
- Utilize data analytics to make informed product decisions and optimizations.
- Monitor industry trends to ensure Ford's intelligence offerings remain competitive and evolve with changes in the industry.
- Define metrics to measure the success, effectiveness, and quality of intelligence products.
- Forge strategic partnerships with leading technology providers to drive advancements in Ford's vehicle intelligence product offering.
- Build, nurture, and guide a team of Product Managers to evaluate, scope, implement, and maintain a portfolio of intelligent services and products.
- Identify revenue-generating opportunities leveraging software solutions to offer customers maximum value.
- Lead and leverage diverse ideas and perspectives to develop a product vision and roadmap aligned across the organization.
- Partner with Design and Tech strategy to inform vehicle and tech platforms with upcoming product and services strategies.
- Manage concerns and report status to Ford Executives and key stakeholders.
- Balance tactical short-term needs with long-term strategic direction and priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a tech-related field.
- 8-10 years of Product Management experience, preferably in artificial intelligence.
- 5+ years of demonstrated people leadership experience, directly managing product team members.
- Experience in bringing to life embedded and cloud software products.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and resilience; ability to thrive on and drive change while navigating ambiguity.
- Superior communication and persuasion skills; ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs effectively.
- Proven relationship building and collaboration skills; ability to influence and drive outcomes in complex organizations.
- Proven track record of solving tough problems and delivering working solutions throughout career.
- Ability to learn new skills and knowledge through self-initiative.
