About the position

The Director of Product Management at Olympus Corporation of the Americas is responsible for leading a Tribe within the product team, coaching product managers, and guiding the development and execution of product strategy. This role emphasizes understanding user needs, cross-functional collaboration, and overseeing the product lifecycle to ensure high-quality solutions that meet market demands. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a passion for mentoring and a strong background in product management, particularly in the medical technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Tribe within the product team, coaching product managers and guiding product strategy execution.
  • Understand user needs through direct interaction, research, and feedback to ensure products deliver real value.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams for seamless product development and launch.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to post-launch optimization, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform product decisions and track performance for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of product managers, providing guidance and opportunities for growth.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with executive leadership and stakeholders, providing updates on product progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of industry experience in product management or similar roles.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a director of product management or similar management role.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

  • Fluency in Japanese, Spanish, or German.
