About the position

The Director of Product Management will lead the development of advanced robotic solutions for the automotive industry at a Series-A Stealth Startup. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's product strategy and offerings, focusing on enhancing the efficiency and safety of tire changing and replacement processes through innovative technology. As the first product manager hire, the individual will be responsible for establishing a strong foundation for the product strategy team and guiding the startup from prototype to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that corresponds with market needs.
  • Create detailed product roadmaps, specifications, and timelines to guide development efforts forward.
  • Prioritize product features and requirements based on customer feedback, business objectives, and technical viability.
  • Communicate technical concepts into user-friendly language.
  • Own the product roadmap and provide clear communication to your team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Support, Customer Success, and other teams to ensure that the applications meet their needs and improve the business.
  • Drive hardware product success from the beginning stages of ideation up until the product launch.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Product Manager.
  • Experience in robotics, automotive, or mechatronics industries.
  • Proven experience in guiding a startup from the prototype stages to launch.
  • Strong understanding of hardware product development including prototyping, testing, and manufacturing process.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language.
  • Understands cost structures and is able to make tradeoffs between cost, performance, quality, and time to market.
