About the position

The Strategic Marketing Leader at Lumentum is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to position the company as a leader in photonics across various industries. This role involves collaboration with product management and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and market penetration, while also focusing on customer insights and market analysis to drive innovation and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across all products.
  • Define and communicate the unique value propositions of Lumentum's products.
  • Collaborate with product line management, business development, and CTO to align marketing efforts with product roadmaps.
  • Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new product launches.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of Lumentum's solutions through targeted campaigns and customer events.
  • Conduct detailed market research to understand customer needs and competitive dynamics.
  • Establish strong relationships with customers to gather feedback and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Develop and deliver high-impact sales tools and training programs for the global sales team.
  • Align closely with sales leadership to ensure consistent messaging and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor a team of product line managers and sales, fostering a culture of collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years in product marketing, strategic marketing, or a related role, preferably in the photonics or high-tech hardware sector.
  • Deep understanding of photonic technologies, lasers, and their applications across telecommunications, semiconductors, and industrial markets.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful go-to-market strategies.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with experience crafting compelling product messaging.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with proficiency in marketing tools and platforms.
  • Leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Results-driven with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Entrepreneurial and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
