About the position

The Director of Production and Facility at HITS Theatre in Houston, TX is a full-time on-site role responsible for overseeing production operations and facility management. This position ensures efficient production processes, maintains high-quality standards, and manages the overall maintenance and safety of the facilities. The Director collaborates with various departments to ensure smooth operations for classes, backstage activities, rentals, and special events, while also being a key member of the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• Manage and coordinate production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of technical elements (costumes, props, lights, sound, video, stage management).
• Oversee facility maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement appropriate measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve overall operations.
• Recruit and hire skilled technical artists and work with volunteers to complete organizational goals.
• Develop an annual production and facility budget in collaboration with the Executive Director and Leadership Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 3 years of management experience in a theatrical production environment.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
