About the position

The Director of Project Development and Construction Management at Havtech LLC is responsible for overseeing design build, construction, controls/automation, equipment, and energy retrofit projects. This role involves providing project development expertise to sales associates and managing project implementation, financial oversight, and team coordination. The position requires significant travel across various regions and aims to ensure customer satisfaction through effective project management and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and technical, operational, financial, and managerial oversight for project activities.
  • Work closely with Owner Direct Sales associates to develop project requirements and solutions.
  • Direct a cross-functional team including design and energy engineers, project developers, and construction project managers.
  • Lead coordinated sales efforts involving multiple Havtech sales groups.
  • Gather and validate preliminary information and perform facility walk-throughs and construction plan reviews.
  • Develop HVAC system-related solutions for customer problems, considering financial and performance aspects.
  • Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities for HVAC system design and installation.
  • Manage project development from inception to close out, including budgetary estimates and project plans.
  • Review energy audit reports and engage with the Sales team for project development.
  • Prepare transition documents and communicate project readiness to the operations team.
  • Manage contracts and build relationships with subcontractors.
  • Oversee the administration team for final inspections, invoicing, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, and a PE License.
  • 10+ years of construction management and project development experience.
  • Management or supervisory experience of project managers and service personnel.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, utility rebates, and tax incentives.
  • Proficient with HVAC systems, controls, and automation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of presentation skills and customer relations expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge of the HVAC industry and energy conservation measures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Co-Operative purchasing, GPO, and government purchasing vehicles.
  • ESCO market and energy retrofit knowledge.
