About the position

The Director of Healthcare Project Management at Turner & Townsend will lead the national Healthcare operations management team, focusing on business growth, profitability, and sustainability in the Northeast US market. This role involves strategic oversight of project management services, client relationship management, and business development, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes in healthcare construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company to enhance the reputation of the national Healthcare group.
  • Oversee strategic and operational management of Healthcare Project and Development Management Services for the Northeast US market.
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients and drive client diversification.
  • Participate in professional organizations to enhance the group's reputation and marketing opportunities.
  • Market the national Healthcare group through presentations and published articles.
  • Develop and maintain a network to assist in achieving annual revenue goals.
  • Manage client relationships to grow revenue through contract renewals and service expansion.
  • Manage staff resourcing with project workload.
  • Construct bids for new work in collaboration with senior management.
  • Negotiate contract fees to ensure profitable outcomes for the Healthcare business unit.
  • Maintain effective communication with the national Healthcare leadership and operations team.
  • Provide weekly updates on project status, initiatives, and staffing.
  • Contribute to strategic and financial plans for the growth of the Healthcare business.
  • Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work with the Healthcare leadership team to develop strategies promoting Turner & Townsend across the US.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations on relevant topics.
  • Attend networking events and promotional opportunities.
  • Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
  • Improve cost management procedures and strive for continuous client service improvement.
  • Ensure knowledge and learning from each commission is captured in the internal database.
  • Utilize tools to track margin levels and financial reports.
  • Provide effective line management to Associate Directors, Senior Consultants, and Consultants.
  • Coach and mentor staff for professional growth and career objectives.
  • Delegate business development and marketing tasks.
  • Manage the PM operation within the approved budget.
  • Ensure development of priority plans, including risk mitigation and performance measurements.
  • Ensure client invoices are accurate and issued timely, following up on accounts receivables.
  • Manage the Project Management division and related activities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant technical and leadership experience in overseeing major construction projects in a Healthcare setting.
  • Experience with Healthcare renovations and seismic resiliency upgrades is preferred.
  • Consulting experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing a regional team and direct reports.
  • Business development experience with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, is preferred.
  • Ability to track margin levels and monthly fee/resource forecasts on all commissions.

  • Experience in academic/research Life Science settings is preferred.
