Job Summary: The Director of Project Management leads high-profile National Projects, including dewatering, bypass pumping, and other special projects, while managing Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Field Engineers, and Project Engineers. This role is responsible for building the project management discipline within Mersino, driving improvements in processes, documentation, reporting, and scalability across small and large projects. The position collaborates with Branches to address complex project challenges, optimize workflows, and align project execution with company policies and the ERP system, Odoo. Responsibilities: Project Leadership: * Oversee National Projects, aligning goals, budgets, and timelines with company standards * Collaborate with Branches on complex project issues, such as change of condition claims, scope adjustments, and change order preparation * Manage and mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Field Engineers, and Project Engineers to promote professional growth and high performance Budgeting & Financial Management: * Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, tracking expenditures, and aligning with financial goals * Approve project spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and adjust financial plans as needed * Analyze project financial performance, provide reports to leadership, and recommend corrective actions * Coordinate project budget preparation with the project controls group Schedule & Resource Management: * Oversee schedule development and tracking for National Projects to meet milestones and timelines * Work closely with the Project Scheduler to assist in managing the project scheduling process * Lead resource planning and allocation to optimize personnel and equipment usage Developing Project Management Standards: * Assist in establishing scalable project management standards for documentation, reporting, and tracking to support projects of all sizes; train Branch locations on implementation of those standards * Create and maintain standardized templates and frameworks for project records, aligning with Odoo for efficient project tracking and data management * Define mandatory elements for project documentation, including schedules, budgets, change logs, and risk assessments, aligning with company policies * Implement a cadence for project report-outs, including progress updates, key milestones, risks, and financial metrics, to be integrated into Odoo reporting workflows Process Optimization & Scalability: * Build and enhance project management processes to streamline workflows and ensure consistency across small and large projects * Drive continuous improvement initiatives to foster operational efficiency, leveraging Odoo for workflow integration and scalability Contract Negotiation: * Actively manage contract negotiations for National Projects, advising on strategies, terms, and compliance with company standards * Collaborate with legal and senior leadership teams to finalize contracts that align with financial and operational objectives * Ensure considerations of cost, time, and submittal requirements are effectively addressed Performance Tracking & Reporting: * Track project performance metrics, including progress, risks, and results, and report to leadership * Develop reporting structures to capture and present key data points using Odoo for comprehensive performance insights Risk Management & Quality Control: * Establish protocols for quality control and risk management to mitigate project challenges and maintain high standards * Support teams in addressing and resolving project risks and quality concerns Client & Stakeholder Engagement: * Oversee client relationships on National Projects, guiding teams in effective communication and issue resolution * Act as a senior escalation point for high-priority client concerns and be responsible for reporting and alerting senior management of issues Project Close-Out & Knowledge Sharing: * Standardize project close-out procedures to document lessons learned and key metrics * Facilitate knowledge transfer to improve processes and outcomes on future projects Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, engineering, or related field; Master's or PMP preferred * 10+ years of project management experience, including 5+ in a leadership role * Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract negotiation * Experience in developing scalable project management processes and standards * Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Odoo, and project management tools like Microsoft Project * Preferred experience with project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Projects, or equivalent * Working knowledge of how to read and interpret a critical path method (CPM) schedule. * Candidate should have knowledge of construction project management software, preferably Pro- Core, HCSS, or equivalent * Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills * Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritizing strategic initiatives and managing multiple projects concurrently Expectations: * A winner.
