About the position

The Director of Project Management & Design at Positive Energy Solar is a pivotal role responsible for leading the Residential Project Management and Design teams. This position oversees solar projects in alignment with the company's Quality Deployment Process, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The Director will set revenue objectives, standardize operational processes, and develop performance metrics aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing schedule variations. This role requires a strong focus on training team members on NetSuite and other relevant management systems, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and effectively managing project scope, schedules, costs, and necessary adjustments. In this capacity, the Director will oversee project management, design, and permitting processes across two regions, Santa Fe and Albuquerque. This includes managing subcontractors, ensuring accurate project documentation, and maintaining proactive communication with clients. The Director will also collaborate with various departments to drive ongoing improvements in project quality, efficiency, and profitability, while upholding the company's commitment to excellence and fostering a positive work environment. Regular travel between the Santa Fe and Albuquerque offices is required, and mileage reimbursement is provided. The position reports to the Director of Operations and is a full-time, salaried role that can be performed from either office location. The Director will be responsible for leading a team of project managers and designers, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. This role is essential for maintaining the company's reputation for exceptional customer service and high-quality solar installations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Residential Project Management and Design teams.
• Set revenue goals and coordinate resources to ensure goals are met.
• Standardize operational processes to improve efficiency and minimize risk.
• Review quarterly backlog reports for accuracy and ensure revenue goals are met.
• Develop and track metrics and KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage staffing for Project Management and Design departments, including hiring and employee development.
• Provide training on NetSuite and other systems to enhance communication and results.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration for safe, profitable, and high-quality project completion.
• Manage project scope, schedule, costs, and changes using best practices.
• Oversee project processes from start to finish, including design review, permitting, inspections, and scheduling.
• Conduct regular project status meetings and maintain accurate documentation.
• Enhance project deployment processes to boost quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years in a senior management role with the ability to lead diverse teams.
• Demonstrated experience managing a team of at least 10 staff members.
• Bachelor's Degree in business, project management, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience managing construction or related projects.
• Strong background in defining key project metrics for project status tracking and communication.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Pro, Nitro Pro, and NetSuite.
• Certified PMP preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and clear communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
