About the position

The Director of Project Management for the Power Lifeline Sector at Ulteig is responsible for leading the project management department, ensuring strategic alignment with the company's goals, and overseeing the profitability and performance of the department. This role involves direct leadership of project management teams, including senior project managers and project controllers, and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality services to clients in the Power market.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction to the project management department in alignment with the Power Lifeline Sector and Ulteig's Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the project management leadership team to set annual budgets and business targets based on the Power LLS Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan.
  • Ensure accountability for results, quality, and delivery expectations within the project management department.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide thought leadership and ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.
  • Establish guiding principles and high-level policies for the department in partnership with the PM COE and Power LLS Directors.
  • Foster an environment of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Manage the project management staff, providing leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred.
  • 10 years of experience required, with 15+ years preferred in engineering consulting, critical infrastructure, or project management.
  • Prior technical experience leading multi-disciplined Substation and Transmission projects in the Power market is preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and industry knowledge, particularly in the power utility market.
  • At least five years of experience leading a functional group or multiple teams with a focus on employee development and performance management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution within the Power market.
  • Familiarity with risk management and change management processes.
  • Experience in client engagement and relationship management.
