About the position

The Director of Project Management is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of large-scale projects in the Body-In-White (BIW) tooling and automation industry. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project management, particularly within the automotive tooling sector. The Director will lead a team of project managers and engineers, ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards while managing multiple stakeholders and complex technical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Business Unit, Program & Project Managers in planning, execution, and completion of large-scale tooling and automation projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic project management frameworks to optimize efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Ensure successful delivery of customer deliverables, maintaining high standards in cost, time, and quality management.
  • Oversee management and forecasting of project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial parameters.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules and timelines, ensuring key milestones are met.
  • Manage resource allocation across multiple projects for optimal use of personnel and equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with customers to review progress and gather feedback.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with project execution.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to internal and external quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor continuous improvement initiatives in tooling and automation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Supervise the entire Project Management Group, including Project Managers and other staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in project management within the automotive tooling sector.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale projects and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget forecasting and cost management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
  • Ability to handle complex technical projects and multiple stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting.
  • Experience working with OEM customer portals.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $140,000 - $150,000 per year.
  • Full-time contract position with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday.
