About the position

The Director of Project Management at QCELLS Enable will lead the Project Management department, playing a crucial role in the organization’s mission to become the leading provider of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system (ESS) solutions in the United States. This position is based in Teaneck, NJ, and reports directly to the Vice-President of Operations. The Director will leverage a strong background in project management and construction to oversee the successful execution of large-scale solar power systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. In this role, the Director will manage a diverse team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Associate Project Managers, providing the necessary resources for the successful completion of all C&I PV and ESS EPC projects. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of project management from contract execution to post-project operations, which encompasses licensing, permitting, zoning, interconnection, subcontracting, engineering, contract management, scheduling, procurement, and quality assurance. The Director will also serve as a point of escalation for customer and subcontractor issues, review performance data to measure productivity, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives. The Director will be expected to support sales and proposal efforts to secure new EPC bids and collaborate with internal planning groups for reporting purposes. Mentorship and training of the project management team on project management fundamentals will also be a key responsibility. This position requires up to 25% travel to various job sites and offices, reflecting the dynamic nature of the role and the need for hands-on leadership in the field.

Responsibilities

• Manage Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Associate Project Managers to ensure on-time and on-budget completion of all C&I PV and ESS EPC projects.
• Oversee all aspects of project management from contract execution to post-project operations, including licensing, permitting, zoning, interconnection, subcontracting, engineering, contract management, scheduling, procurement, and quality assurance.
• Serve as a point of escalation for customer and subcontractor issues.
• Review activity reports and performance data to measure productivity and identify areas for cost reduction and program improvement.
• Support sales and proposal efforts to win new EPC bids.
• Mentor the Project Management team and provide training on project management fundamentals.
• Facilitate 'lessons learned' meetings after project completion to document areas of improvement and excellence.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of Project Management experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry preferred.
• Experience working with Electric Utilities preferred.
• NABCEP Certification preferred.
• PMP Certification preferred.
• Fluency in MS Project or equivalent project management software.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
• Ability to read plan sets, perform take-offs, and create Bill of Materials and procurement bids.
• Excellent time management and financial management skills.
• Strong communication skills among construction, technical, and non-technical personnel.
