About the position

The Director of Project Management at Oklahoma State University is responsible for overseeing the IT Project Management Office, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. This role involves managing IT projects through portfolio management, project management, and organizational change management disciplines, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of operations in the OSU IT Project Management Office.
  • Ensure quality, scope objectives, and add value to projects that meet organizational goals.
  • Manage IT projects using portfolio management, project management, and organizational change management disciplines.
  • Forecast and track the availability of resources throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop metrics to ensure effective communication between all constituents of the PMO.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the PMO team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of related experience managing multiple, complex, multidisciplinary IT projects.
  • Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, Engineering or related field.
  • Five years of experience in higher education.
  • Experience with multiple organizations/campuses and large user base.
  • Project Management Professional Certification or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification.
