About the position

The Director of Project Management at Cleaver-Brooks is responsible for overseeing and coordinating project activities to ensure timely execution within budget constraints. This role involves managing customer interfaces, leading functional departments, and mitigating commercial risks associated with projects. The Director will also contribute to the plant's strategic goals and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage project activities to ensure execution on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage customer interfaces from project kick-off to completion to ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop project plans in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement departments.
  • Monitor project progress and budget compliance, addressing any deviations promptly.
  • Prepare interim and final project reports, including root cause analysis for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and company policies throughout project activities.
  • Supervise and mentor Project Managers, reviewing their progress and evaluating results.
  • Participate in design reviews and production meetings to meet customer specifications.
  • Work with finance to ensure timely invoicing and payments for projects.
  • Resolve disputes related to contract language in collaboration with legal as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Five years or more of project management experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems and MS Project is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and develop team members.
  • Ability to manage risks and ensure customer satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proven track record of successful project management in a similar industry.
