About the position

As our Director of Project Management, you will steer our project management team and practice toward excellence, shaping how we approach project management, resource management, and delivery at Vye. This is a significant opportunity to join our leadership team and have an outsized impact across the agency. You will lead a dynamic team of five, setting the standard for project delivery while bringing an intimate understanding of integrated inbound marketing and web projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our project management practices align with our agency's goals and client expectations. In this position, you will be responsible for visionary leadership, ensuring that the project management team achieves high-impact solutions that enhance revenue and organizational goals. You will serve as the voice for project management and resource management at Vye, leading and advancing our approach across the agency. Your focus will also include project profitability, ensuring that resources are properly allocated and managed to meet profitability targets. You will lead agency-wide project health reporting, partnering with project managers to identify and escalate off-track projects. You will prioritize ongoing professional development for both yourself and your team, establishing individual growth plans and departmental training programs to ensure continuous improvement. Fostering a supportive and enjoyable work environment will be essential, as you maintain composure under pressure and proactively solve problems. You will champion positivity and readiness with well-prepared contingency plans. Additionally, you will own and advance the project management practice at Vye, elevating methodologies, processes, and guidelines for project management involvement. You will keep your skills sharp by leading 2-3 top-tier client projects, ensuring high standards across all project management practices while partnering cross-functionally to elevate client satisfaction and profitability. Your role will also involve operational and strategic oversight, developing and managing detailed project scopes and cost estimates, and acting as a key advisor within the agency to enhance service quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project management team in achieving high-impact solutions that enhance revenue and organizational goals.
  • Ensure project resources are properly allocated and managed to hit profitability targets.
  • Lead agency-wide project health reporting, partnering with project managers to identify and escalate off-track projects.
  • Prioritize ongoing professional development for yourself and your team, establishing individual growth plans and departmental training programs.
  • Foster a supportive and enjoyable work environment, maintaining composure under pressure and proactively solving problems.
  • Own and advance the project management practice at Vye, elevating methodologies, processes, and guidelines for PM involvement.
  • Lead 2-3 top-tier client projects to ensure high standards across all project management practices.
  • Serve as the central communication hub for projects, maintaining consistent contact with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage detailed project scopes and cost estimates, integrating all data into relevant PM tools.
  • Own and advance resource management practices at Vye, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization across all projects.
  • Collaborate with the COO to develop and implement a process for accurately forecasting agency capacity.
  • Leverage resourcing data to identify when to hire full-time vs freelance team members.
  • Lead discussions surrounding organizational capacity targets, pricing enhancements, and more.
  • Lead the development and implementation of agency-wide procedures to ensure smooth workflow management.
  • Champion rigorous QA processes to secure all necessary sign-offs on key project deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives via insightful project debriefs and actionable plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of blended project management and resource management experience within a digital advertising agency.
  • 2+ years of leading a team and/or PM/PM practice.
  • Deep experience managing inbound marketing and web projects across various industry verticals.
  • Proficient in HubSpot, Asana, and Harvest (or similar tools) with a deep understanding of PM methodologies (agile, scrum, and waterfall).
  • Strong people management capabilities, with a proven track record of leading, motivating, and inspiring teams to achieve high-quality results.
  • Exceptional ability to manage conflicting priorities with flexibility, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and trends.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a similar agency environment.
