About the position

The Director of Project Management is responsible for overseeing the operations of the OSU IT Project Management Office, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of IT projects. This role involves managing project quality, scope, and objectives to align with organizational goals, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the PMO team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee IT projects using portfolio management, project management, and organizational change management disciplines.
  • Ensure quality and scope objectives are met for all projects.
  • Forecast and track resource availability throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop metrics for effective communication within the PMO.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
  • Guide the PMO team towards common goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Five years of related experience managing complex IT projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in higher education.
  • Experience with multiple organizations/campuses and large user bases.
  • Project Management Professional Certification or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification.
