About the position

The Director of Property Operations and Facilities at GALLERYone - a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the technical operations and maintenance of the hotel. This position ensures that the property is maintained to the highest standards, enhancing guest experiences while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and managing building systems. The role involves leading a skilled engineering team and collaborating with various departments to drive operational success and energy efficiency initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems, and grounds according to regulations.
  • Conduct facility inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Assign, verify, and document completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
  • Direct, oversee, and maintain required documentation for energy management and conservation and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead, manage, and communicate information about capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor compliance.
  • Obtain required licenses and permits to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Direct daily department operations including guest service standards, product quality, inventory management, cost controls, and budgeting.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, providing supervision, professional development, and recognition.
  • Recruit, interview, and train team members.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property operations and facilities management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial forecasts effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability practices.
  • Familiarity with property maintenance management systems.
  • Certifications in facilities management or engineering.
