About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Permanent Director of Propulsion Engineering to join our team. As a leader in the engineering industry, we are at the forefront of space exploration and technology. This position will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and deployment of our next-generation propulsion systems for various space missions, including launch, orbital, and lunar exploration. As the Director of Propulsion Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of over 50 propulsion engineers in the design, development, and analysis of propulsion systems, including rockets, thrusters, and other related equipment. You will oversee the full lifecycle of propulsion projects, from initial concept and design through to manufacturing, testing, and launch. Collaboration with other engineering teams will be essential to integrate propulsion systems into spacecraft designs. You will ensure that all propulsion systems meet necessary safety and performance standards, as well as regulatory requirements. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in propulsion technology and processes. Working closely with project managers, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Additionally, you will keep abreast of developments in propulsion technology and the wider space industry, identifying opportunities for innovation. Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing a team of 50+ propulsion engineers in the design, development, and analysis of propulsion systems, including rockets, thrusters, and other related equipment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in propulsion engineering, with a focus on rocket and thruster technology.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of fluid dynamics, rocket propulsion, and space technology.
  • Experience with launch, orbital, and lunar missions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
