About the position

The Quality Assurance Registered Nurse (QA RN) is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care within a skilled nursing facility. This role focuses on monitoring nursing practices, developing quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The QA RN collaborates with clinical staff to identify improvement areas, provide training, and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits of patient care records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyze data from incident reports, infection control reports, and patient satisfaction surveys to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute quality improvement plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the facility meets all state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare for and participate in state and federal inspections and surveys.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and ensure staff are informed and trained accordingly.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on quality assurance processes and best practices.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training sessions on quality improvement, infection control, and patient safety.
  • Mentor and support staff in implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality assurance records and reports.
  • Generate and analyze reports on quality metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the leadership team and staff.
  • Address patient and family concerns related to care quality.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to develop individualized care plans that meet patient needs.
  • Lead performance improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes and staff performance.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to guide quality improvement efforts.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a quality assurance or quality improvement role in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.

  • Proficient in data analysis and report generation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
