About the position

The Quality/Risk Director at Encompass Health is responsible for overseeing the hospital-wide quality management program, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing the quality of patient care services. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to monitor and improve care quality, while also providing education related to regulations and standards. The position is integral to maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment that values teamwork and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the hospital-wide quality management program.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and hospital policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assessment and improvement programs.
  • Assess compliance with federal, state, and industry regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Provide organizational education related to regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate local, state, federal, and accreditation surveys.
  • Use applications to identify improvement opportunities and generate reports.
  • Ensure the update and maintenance of hospital plans related to care and safety.
  • Oversee risk management activities, including incident reports and corrective action planning.
  • Coordinate the review, development, and implementation of hospital policies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments to resolve patient concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field (preferred).
  • License or Certification as required by state regulations.
  • Experience in Quality and/or Risk Management.
  • Primary responsibility for performance improvement activities.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and conflict resolution.
  • Leadership experience in risk management activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with applications like PatCom, UDS, ORYX, and Press Ganey.
