About the position

The Director of Real Estate Finance at Chicanos Por La Causa is responsible for monitoring ongoing performance and making strategic decisions to enhance investment returns and property values. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate finance, particularly in the context of affordable housing, and involves rigorous analysis of investment opportunities to mitigate risks and maximize returns.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ongoing performance of real estate investments.
• Make strategic decisions regarding value-add improvements, buy, sell, hold, and refinance options.
• Provide insight-driven analysis of real estate investment and development opportunities.
• Manage a portfolio of real estate investments to develop effective economic strategies.
• Understand and apply real estate financing standards for Low Income Housing Tax Credit and other affordable housing products.
• Collaborate with the asset management team and other functional areas to achieve goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or a closely related area.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
• Five years of finance experience in real estate development or asset management.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Strong understanding of Net Present Value, Internal Rates of Return, and Return on Cost.
• Excellent MS Excel skills, including designing, modeling, and analyzing large data sets.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial records and transactions.
• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to function in a high-demand environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with database software and automated underwriting platforms.
• Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems and other specialty software.
