About the position

The Director of Real Estate is a key role within Kiddie Academy® Educational Child Care, responsible for assisting franchisees in securing real estate for their operations. This position involves working closely with both the corporate team and franchisees to facilitate lease or purchase agreements, ensuring that franchisees can successfully establish their Academies. The role is remote but requires the candidate to reside in the Nashville, TN area to effectively serve local franchisees. Responsibilities

  • Assist new and existing franchisees with securing real estate using lease or purchase agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with the corporate team and franchisees to achieve business objectives.
  • Negotiate business terms of leases or purchase and sale agreements (PSA).
  • Network with real estate brokers and developers to identify suitable locations.
  • Translate commercial real estate leases and contracts into quality locations for franchisees.
  • Utilize business software for site selection, demographics, and mapping.

Requirements

  • Franchising experience is preferred.
  • Child care commercial real estate experience is preferred.
  • Previous transactional real estate experience working directly for a retailer or as a commercial real estate broker focused on commercial-retail real estate.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial real estate leases and contracts.
  • Ability to network with real estate brokers and developers.
  • Strong negotiation skills for business terms of leases or PSAs.
  • Familiarity with tenant improvements related to commercial leases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in business software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to be persuasive and aggressive with franchisees, landlords, and brokers.
