About the position

The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) at Reliant Rehabilitation is responsible for managing and supervising the rehabilitation department to meet resident needs while adhering to the company's fiscal requirements and federal and state regulations. This role involves achieving specific objectives related to patient care, employee relations, customer service, and financial performance through effective leadership and management of staff, clients, and referral sources. The DOR plays a crucial role in ensuring high standards of performance and quality care within the rehabilitation department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the rehabilitation department to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Assign patient scheduling and responsibilities to staff as needed.
  • Supervise, orient, train, evaluate, and counsel department employees to improve job performance.
  • Assist with the interview process for hiring department employees.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation by therapists and therapy assistants.
  • Communicate effectively with administration regarding department programs and objectives.
  • Responsible for revenue and expense controls to meet budgetary requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of MDS information and billing of services provided.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Reliant Rehabilitation, facility, and patient information.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings, training, and assignments as delegated.

Requirements

  • Must possess a degree in Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapy from an accredited school.
  • If a Rehab Tech, must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and two years of experience in relevant therapy roles.
  • Must hold a current and active license as a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Computer literate and proficient in clinical documentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) or long-term acute hospitals (LTACHs).
  • Leadership experience in a rehabilitation setting.
